YOUR DREAM OPPORTUNITY

The Senior AI Automation Engineer - Digital is responsible for designing and delivering AI-enabled capabilities for Digital and eCommerce teams to improve productivity, automate workflows, and accelerate delivery from idea to production. This role delivers practical, production-ready AI solutions aligned to Shopify as FN's central eCommerce platform.

In this role, you will support FN's early adoption of AI by introducing repeatable, supervised delivery patters and progressively embedding them into day-to-day engineering and operational practices. 

You will operate in an agent-led delivery model where AI agents are trusted to execute meaningful implementation work under human supervision, with emphasis on outcomes, quality controls and safe operationalisation rather than approval of every step. You will also contribute digital domain SME insight, reusable patterns, and delivery learnings into FN’s enterprise AI standards and guardrails through established architecture and governance forums.

• Design and deliver end-to-end AI solutions that improve digital and eCommerce workflows and decision-making.
• Build and deploy AI-enabled assistants/agents and workflow automations for business and IT users.
• Translate business problems into implementable AI capabilities with measurable outcomes.
• Implement retrieval-based patterns (RAG) to ground AI outputs in trusted sources.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and tools via approved integration patterns (including MCP where approved).
• Ensure solutions respect data access controls, security requirements, and operational constraints.
• Ensure AI solutions align to Shopify as the central eCommerce platform and support digital operating needs.
• Partner with digital and eCommerce stakeholders to prioritise and deliver high-value use cases.
• Avoid duplicating platform capabilities through AI solutions where Shopify or existing platforms provide the function.
• Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, supportable, and monitored appropriately.
• Monitor solution performance and continuously improve quality, reliability, adoption, and cost.
• Contribute to runbooks, support handover, and operational expectations where required.
• Contribute digital domain SME insight, reusable assets, and implementation feedback into enterprise AI standards and guardrails.
• Escalate material risks, gaps, or exceptions through agreed governance and architecture channels.

THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US

• Experience delivering digital or eCommerce solutions in production environments.
• Experience building AI-enabled workflows, assistants/agents, or automation solutions beyond proof-of-concept.
• Strong understanding of API-based integration and enterprise digital ecosystems.
• Familiarity with retrieval-based AI patterns and tool integration concepts (RAG and similar).
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams.
