YOUR DREAM OPPORTUNITY
You will play a key role in optimizing inventory levels and maximizing sales opportunities within your category. This involves managing allocations and markdowns, monitoring product trend balances, and collaborating closely with the Category Buyer to generate ideas that drive sales and enhance product performance.
You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, with the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by mentoring and guiding an Allocation Analyst. But it doesn't stop there! Your career growth is important to us. You will work with the Head of Planning who will help develop your design skills and build up your capabilities.
Get excited to:
- Maximise profit and minimise risk through stock management and realistic sales and profit forecasts with regular review and appropriate action
- Manage the in-season open to buy at department/category/ season level using the WSSI and ensure that the budgeted or re-plan stock levels are being met
- In conjunction with Buyer & Planner, propose category budgets, in line with strategic review
- Post business planning sign off, produce a commercial and balanced range planning framework, which reflects departmental strategy and agreed KPI’s
- With the Buyer and Designer, construct a well balanced range framework which offers the right mix of category e.g. casual/formal, print, plain, colour & fabric to match the customer’s fashion requirements, based on history and current performance
- Present high level financials and range framework at the beginning of order sign off and summarised at the completion
- Optimise store performance by working with your Allocation Analyst to ensure stock is allocated to store based on philosophy of right store, right stock, right time
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US
You are ready to take your next career step onto the global stage having had at least 2-3 years' demonstrated experience as an Assistant Planner within a Womenswear Apparel Retailer. With a strong understanding of all critical path elements and their impact on delivery, your proven track record of effective stock management, is evident within your experience.
- Proven experience as an Assistant Planner or Senior Assistant Planner in a Retail business
- Experience using the WSSI to ensure that the budgeted stock levels are being met
- Strong Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel highly favoured)
- Experience working with Buyers on building range plans and attending Trade meetings
- Effective planning and organisational skills
- Strong financial and commercial business acumen
- Ability to work under pressure, working to tight deadlines
- A high attention to detail
- Understands the customer and responds effectively to their needs
- Knowledge of the High Street competitors and able to form educated opinions to effect commercial decisions
- Have an understanding of all critical path elements and their impact on delivery
- Confident and engaging communicator with the ability to deliver presentations and influence key stake holders
- Ability to coach and develop a team, whilst managing key relationships effectively to deliver business strategy
