YOUR DREAM OPPORTUNITY

As our Senior Support Developer, you will provide analysis and development support for internal users across a range of retail business applications used by our Planning, Design, Buying, Sourcing, Supply Chain and Finance teams.

You will support our business by providing continuous improvement for systems and integrations, establishes and deploys strategies to solve integration issues identified through system monitoring and by internal users, and continually works to improve productivity of business systems.

As our Senior Support Developer, you can expect to: 

User Experience & Stakeholder Experience: 

  • Support internal stakeholders in using retail business applications used by our Planning, Design, Buying, Sourcing, Supply Chain and Finance teams. 
  • Be first point of contact for level 2+ system/ integration support
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, problems and requests in a timely manner – reduce impact to business
  • Liaise with all business and IT partners to analyse business requirements, providing resolutions for related issues
  • Gather feedback from end users to continue enhance systems
  • Ownership of outcomes
  • Effective communication with senior stakeholders, business partners, and external stakeholders.

System Management & Enhancement: 

  • Provide sound analysis and quality resolution of complex technical and business issues, including those previously undocumented, at pace
  • Identify integration improvements and ensure they are proactively raised and progressed reducing tech debt
  • Administer “recommended” application upgrades / modification to improve efficiency
  • Development and testing of new features, enhancements, and version upgrades as appropriate for their supporting technologies
  • Including test plans and execution
  • Integration plans and execution
  • Assist Helpdesk members in improving their support documentation and level of knowledge.
  • Bug Fixing, data and database modifications, and quality improvements.
  • Understand the underlying code/ SQL stored procedures to understand the system behaviour and provide support to resolve issues, and to pass on knowledge to junior team members.
  • Support SLAs are well understood and are being met and application functionality is being monitored.
  • Data integrity is in place ensuring all interfaces and validation errors are fixed in a timely manner.
  • Support – document process and procedures as SME and point of escalation for after hours 2nd level support.
  • Continuous Improvement – understanding and identifying tech debt, ensuring proactive improvements are made.

Teamwork & Leadership:

  • Be an active and engaged team member
  • Provide mentoring and coaching of applications support team members
  • Be Technical SME for primary application(s) and system integrations for the team

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU OFFER US

This role is equivalent of a Level 2 Support Analyst. Having worked in a similar Retail application support environment, you will also have:  

  • Degree qualified in Computer Science/Information technology or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a developer or support role
  • Solid Microsoft SQL Scripting and .Net skills (C#), comfortable in both fixing and writing new code
  • Working knowledge with cloud technologies like Azure and AWS
  • Awareness of ITSM principles and equivalent experience
  • Experience working within a technology team at a Retailer or Wholesaler
  • Working experience in functional and/or technical design of custom technology applications
  • Demonstrated understanding of designing, analysing and implementing efficient IT systems and solutions
  • Adaptable to new systems, applications and processes
  • Beneficial - Experience analysing and documenting as-is capabilities for business processes and technologies
